Help Me Pleeeassseee!!!

I Recently posted on this board telling you guys that i had an OPTI SPARK issue... went to the dealership and got my car diagnostic, they told me it was the opti spark and nothing else.... i actually drove my car up there....

now i bought a USED opti spark off of EBAY for a pretty decent price and from the looks of it.. it looked good,, put it on.. the car did NOT start, and the mechanic blamed it on the part being USED...

Bought a new Opti and he put it on yesterday.. CAR DID NOT FIRE UP!!! and the Mechanic wants to charge me the same price to put it on again! But why wouldnt my car fire up?? Before you took it off, it fired up just fine! Now it wont fire up at all! I Hear it trying to start but nothing!

Bottom line is im a poor dude but i love my camaro and i just want it right.. so you guys are my last hope for advice~! i dont think i can pay the other half to this guy on friday w/o him actually getting my car started!!! HELLLLLLPPPP WHAT COULD BE WRONG???

2 questions...

Is it a vented or non-vented opti you got?

Would they do it again if they installed it wrong? If it's non-vented that it should be for your car then it can be installed wrong, and not timed right but the only way to really tell is to pull it off and put it back on...

Why are they charging you if they don't know what they are doing? sounds like a shady mechanic how much are they charging you?

Do they realize that the splined driveshaft can be misaligned very easilly? Most people believe "it will only go together one way", but its very easy to mis-align the splines:

No Fix= no pay.....I would not pay anything if you drove it in there now it won't start

Sounds like they need to do some checking on it, Tell them your not paying until it fires...they can't put you in a worse position than you were when you went in there

Exactly, that would be my stand on it. They told you they were a 100% positive the opti was at fault. Two optis later, the car isn't fixed. I would get to the bottom of it with these guys before you give them another dime.

I really hate to see things like this happen... this is one of the reasons why I started working on my own cars long ago.

if anybody knows what this could be i'd like your advice... and thanks for giving me advice on paying the mechanic too.. he expects the other part of his money on friday but i guess i have bad news for him if he cant get my car started..

Yup, if it sounds like it wanting to fire but wont.. I'm pretty sure he miss align the opti.. I'd pull it off and realign it for ya for nothing if you were alittle closer to kingman, AZ..

Here print this and show it to the guy..
