Running hotter after H/C install

Before the H/C install my engine temp would run in the mid 160 range, now it is running a lil hotter. In the mid 170. Could that be due to having more water then coolant in the system? Or is this normal?

Did you completely flush and burp the cooling system? Checked the thermostat and radiator cap? It might even be that you're low on coolant.

Properly bleed the system, unless timing has been changed or your running lean, combustion chamber temps shouldnt alter coolant temps.

Also to be noted, stock guages are iffy, use a program that reads the pcm's info on coolant temp.

I have the 160 stat as well, but why after the H/C install would the temp rise 10 deg?
I bleed the sytem, shouldnt be any air in the lines. But will double check that.
