help me pick my cam (car details inside)

car is a 6spd, with 4.10's, Moser12bolt, Hooker LT's, OR y-pipe, LM catback, SLP cai, SPEC stage 2 clutch, BMR K-member and lower A-arms, the car dosent weigh much at all I would guess around 3300lbs (no interior at all) fiberglass hood, no stereo, no speakers, no carpet, just driver and passenger seat
I have some full port LT1 heads, that will be installed over the winter, along with a 58mm Holley TB, Comp "R" lifters, CC pro mag 1.6 rr's, 36lb SVO injectors and i might port match the intake or smooth it out some

anyway here are the numbers on the heads

lift Intake/Exhuast
.100, 65/53
.200, 142/111
.300, 193/147
.400, 237/178
.500, 264/182
.550, 269/187
.600, 271/191

springs are CC 985-16
combustion chambers are 53cc and i'll either use Impala or Fel-Pro head gaskets
I was planning on using the GM847 as i want maximum power!
anyone have any other cam ideas i should look into?

As far as I know, the GM847 cam is the one with the highest lift numbers among the LT1 cams (solid rollers aside), and lift is good. But still, you might want to call Combination Motorsports or someone who knows their stuff and talk to them and see what they have to say about this. But I think the GM 847 would make a nice cam for your setup. Good luck.

That's what I was going to suggest. Either the 847 or the CC 230/236 XE.

I would use the GM 847 or a custom cam from Bret Bauer in that set up.

i have a question about my springs and the GM847....
the springs i'm using have an open seat pressure of 338lbs and the GM847 has an open seat pressure of 336lbs, now i dont know exactly how those two numbers will affect each other, all i do know is that they are really close and i'm curious will this have any adverse affects on my valvetrain?

another thing is lift, my springs should be good for .600 but with 1.6rr's the exhaust side of the 847 is like .596 any comments on that?

thanks guys
Steve

if those are single spings, I would use something different.
The single springs "might" work for a while but if you are wanting to put the car togather, turn tha engine above 6500 RPM and expect the springs to alst with that cam, I would DEFINITELY o with a dbl spring.

Comp 987's would work or if you have R lifetrs, a Comp 977 would be better. These dbl spring would cost more $$$, require locators and a lil machining but they are a MUST if you want the springs to last.

just get the Crane springs to match the (GM847 which is the Crane Cam #109841 grind # HR-296-2S-12 IG) and you'll be good even up to 1.7rrs. Crane Spring Kit #10308-1

From the looks of it...I guess it's safe to say this is a strip only car? Or do you plan on driving it daily also?
