Help me make my 355 a stroker.

Ok. I recently purchased a forged 355(.030 over) to replace my pinging stock POS shortblock..here are its specs:

fully machined, magnafluxed and blueprintied 355ci LT1 shortblock, Powerhouse performance CR1 pro street 5.7" forged steel rods, speed-pro forged flat top pistons, hastings moly coated rings, all premium king bearings, lt1 crank with rolled fillets micropolished STD/STD

Now...would the only thing I need to make it a 383 is a
383crank? If so, where can I purchase one. Is there anything else I would need? I would much rather make it a stroker while I can.

Yea All you need is a 3.75 stroke crank. And maybe some clearancing.

No you also need new pistons, unless you want them to stick about 1/8 inch out of the block. You'll need to balance the rotating assy., clearance the block, etc.

Why not sell the unused rotating assembly, keep the block and buy the stroker kit parts. It might bring enough cash to buy a budget stroker good for 500 or more flywheel hp. What sort of power levels are you looking at?

You didn't mention heads. If you don't spend a good % of your budget there that bottom end will be all dressed up with no place to go.

BTW, this might get more reads and replies in LT1 Tech. This forum is sorta slow recently. Don't be surprised if it gets moved.

My $.02

yep....I just talked via email to the guy I bought the sb from and he said exactly that(as said above). I asked him what crank and pistons he recommends but will probably have to wait till tomorrow night to get an answer(seems he only responds to emails once every night. Do you guys have any recommendations? Money isnt really a total issue, but I dont want to go poor either. I plan on sending my stock heads to be ported next week when I get them out. I have cc503(xe224/230), but that was for my 355. If I go to 383, I think Ill need a bigger cam and will possibly sell this one. Also, I spray a 125dry shot all the time.

Also will have 58mmTB, jethot longtube(got MAC now) and all the new misc parts(opti, sensors, wires, CIS h2o pump, etc, bacically all the extras). I dont want to have to do this twice!
