Help me make a monster
Help me make a monster
Ok guys I just got pacesetter long tubes, the guy that is gonna help me with the install said he would do a cam while we had it all broke down. I have heard pros and cons to the hot cam kit and extensive searches on here have proven the same. He suggests the .306 what do you guys think? I want a nice sounding cam that produces nice numbers. My car has 94,000 miles and I don't want it to pop and would also like to retain decent gas milage. I plan on going with springs 1.6' rollers, hardened push rods and a new timing chain. Which cam would be best, I also plan on keeping stock heads for a little while but upgradin later. Any help would be appreciated. Also does anyone want the old cam?
Re: Help me make a monster
the 306 while its a good performer is a 10+ yr old design
there are much better cams out now that can outperform it and provide much better lowend tq without the need to rev so high to make horsepower
for instance, some of the cams from www.combinationmotorsports.com and the CC XE series of cams
use the search feature above and type in something like "cam" or "LT1 cam with stock heads", use your imagintaion on the search. you will find all kinds of ideas and information
