SVO injector question

I am tring to install some 30# Ford SVO injectors, but the grooves in the injector, where the clip goes, dosen't go all the way around. There is a grove on each side, but with the injector facing the right way the groves are at a 90* difference from the sides of the clip.

How do I clip these injectors down to the fuel rail?

Do I carve out the groove all the way around?

Thanks
Joe

Thanks

Re: SVO injector question

You could also hit the closed part of the groove with a dremel--only takes a few minutes--clips slipped right on....

Re: SVO injector question

Look closer, there should be another groove. I thought the same thing on my siemens injectors then realized there is another groove.

Re: SVO injector question

There is another groove, but the injector would have to be pulled out some in order for the clip to go around it. I thought that it would possibly cause a leak at the fuel rail by not having it in all the way. Somebody let me know if I am wrong.

Thanks

Re: SVO injector question

Use the other groove. I did and no leaks. When you bolt the rail down everything is tightened up anyway. Try it.

Re: SVO injector question

You can use the other (i.e. continueous) groove even though the injector will not sit as deep in the fuel rail as the stock injectors do. That's the way I installed mine, and they haven't leaked yet.
