Help me find a shift boot please anyone
Guys I ripped my leather shift boot, and broke the plastic retainer that holds it to the console. I have grey graphite leather interior. Dealer wants $125,not gonna pay that. Please help, anyone, thanks.
I have my old shift boot. It just has a tiny hole in it. Hardly noticeable, but I wanted a genuine leather boot so I bought one from Wheel Skins. I also bought a new plastic frame since I broke it while changing the boots. You really have to be careful when you mess with that thing.
Can't remember how much the retainer was rom dealer, but it wasn't much.
As a matter of fact, I didn't even put the new retainer in since the broken one seems to work ok for the mean time.
BTW, the damn stock boot came with the hole. Apparently SLP stabbed it when they installed my Hurst.
My old one is gray to match my gray interior.

BTW my boot is off my 97SS, so you might want to see if the retainers are the same.
The TAs might be totally different, in which case the Cam boots may not even fit.
If you call one of the many outfits that sell Wheelskins gen. leather shift boots they may be able to fix you up.
As far as your retainer, that too may cost more than mine did. Don't know.
At any rate, if you get a new one, you might as well get a "real leather" one from Wheel skins. It does add a touch of class, and they don't rip like the stock crap.JMHO
Vendors of Wheelskins offer different pricing and shipping fees, so call several. You can get to any of them on-line or call their 800 #s.
