I have a 96 z28 auto with 75,000 miles on it. I only had the car for six months and i have put on new taylor plugs, ngk 555 plugs, mac mid headers, no cat, slp loudmouth, morso intake, vortec elbow, new msd coil,and new GM fuel pump. Ok last week i was at the track and my car was running OK it was missing up top. I go to leave and my car will not run. My fuel pump went out. So i got a new gm fuel pump thinking that that is why it was missing but i was wrong. the car will pull hard in first gear then it shifts to second and in second at about 5,000 rpm it will miss once or twice and then keep pulling. I know you are thinking opti but what is everything else i can check? The wires dont seem to be hitting the headers anywhere. I will check the plugs tommarow. What else can i check before i pay for a piece of **** opti!!!! thanks

If you've replaced all those parts and feel good about the install/quality of the parts, I would go elsewhere and rule them out of the problem. At least you've done that recently.

 

does it miss and then get it's power back.. if so i believe it's a opti problem....

 

crap i guess i will shell out another $300 for a opti. yah!!
