help me Decide PLEASEE!

1st not sure if this is in the right forum but post is mixed with a couple of subjects.

well Christmas is coming up and I’m not sure what i want to get for my Z.

I was thinking about getting some appearance stuff such as
Blackouts
Clear corners
Keyed mark fixed
ect.

But then again I want to make my car faster to. What is the best way to boost my horse power as in best bang for the buck. Mods right now are in Sig, and car is a 97 Z28 auto 61k miles.
I was thinking about getting a
cam(hotcam?) which i think cost 600 bucks
Headers?(shorties to pass emissions)
converter?
gears?(4.10's or 3.73's?)

I was wondering what you all suggest and it can be other stuff then what’s on here. I would also appreciate it if you could post the price and how hard the installation is to do your self. I would like to do all the stuff my self unless it is that hard.

Also getting Subs soon any suggestions on a system.

well there isn’t really a budget as i get about 100+ to spend a week after paying insurance and what not. But i was just looking at to 12's rockfords(54 bucks each) maybe even infinites (same price I think) or buy my friends for 30 bucks for both(1 small cracked) or should I just buy them both new and get the warranty incase anything happens and is it possible to just take the stereo equipment out when ever I go to the race track or what not? figured it would weigh about 100 pounds so like .1 off my 1/4.

Possible looking at buying some of the stuff used like the headers, unless someone suggests buying them new for some reason?

I also get 30% off at car toys so I guess you can count that in, still have to buy an amp and a box.

For prices on Subs and other stuff (not performance toys), try doing a search on

http://www.pricegrabber.com

As far as looking good and going fast, you usually don't get both. Maybe you can get the blackouts and have the scratch fixed and throw in a set of gears. Depends on the budget.

i mean i don't have to have something that will bump my roof off just something that is nice and people will like.

My car also doesn't have to be this bad *** looking kind of car either.

Most of the appearance stuff im thinking about is mainly black outs, and clear corners and i think im going to lower it. Along with the list how much will lowering springs cost, and i i can pretty much do that my self right?

i can't get long tubes and still pass emmisions tho can I?

also have a question about converters what kind would you recommend and what stall. Also do converters only help when you go from a stop or will they also help from a roll?

The man reason im askign all this stuff is because im not sure really want i want to do with my car. I REALLY want a stick but i figured i couldn't do that tell about 7-9 months tell the car is in my name(turn 18). So im not sure rather or not i should think about doing all this stuff to my car if im just going to turn around and sell it. Also had a plan to save if and get a crotch rocket . Then when i get bored with that sell it and put the money into the car that i have at that time around 3000? maybe.

If i do sell my car the main thing i would possible be looking for is a m6, t-tops, and perfer LS1 maybe LT1 sence there both great engines. I would prefer a 99+ body style Trans am but i like the pre 98 camaros better then the LS1 front end.

the amount of demand for your car will decrease with the amount of modifications you do of any kind. Keep that in mind if like you said you may sell your car.

For my opinion forget the sterio crap unless what you have now is broken and needs replacement.......i like to keep in mind with myself the ultimate goal of why the camaro/TA exsist: speed/performance.
thats my opinion of course but-

its always up to you, (mabye that negates what i said above) and spend your money the way you want that makes you happy

I wouldnt recommend the headlight blackouts. I had 2 sets and neither one fit right right. You also have to take them off at night because you cant see nuthin. And once you remove them they never go back on the same way.

hum well what about clear corners, are those any good.

And i am really thinking about selling my car and getting a m6 with t-tops. For one i love t-tops and 2 i don't really feel like I'M driving my car and making it go fast besides just pressing the pedal down.

So should i hang off and save my money and just put it towards mods on my new car of even towards the new car? it will be about 7 months tell i can sell my car, even though i really love this car and i can just convert it back to stock when i want to sell it right? So far this car has been a good one nothing really broke yet or any leaks ect AND its under warranty(which can cause problems with the mods but not always bad). Just worried about selling it and getting another car and having it be a dud or something like that.

so any other suggestions?
so i guess what it comes down to is that i just really want a m6 and a convertion would cost to much time and money.

that is what i would love to have but i want to be able to get it with in a year. Want to have it my senior year and if i do get an LS1 it will be a Trans am for sure. I just don't like the look of the LS1 camaros altho not that i wouldn't take one if i DID find one, I just want a Trans Am more which will be a couple thousand more.

Unlike this car we got a hell of a deal on this one was marked at 10-11k and we got it for 8k. and a 3.2k trade in on my 95 stang V6 with hail damage all over it. And we have not had a problem with it yet besides the water pump and the belt which was all under warrenty. Also the camaro had 56k miles on it with all options but t-tops.
