Unhappy Help!! Installed Fuel Pressure Gauge/white Faced Gauges...have Problem

Hello all....
i need help... i installed the line to the shrader valve with no problems and ran the wires in the car but a couple of the wires popped out of the harness that plugs into the back of the gauge, so i popped them back into what i think is the right spots but i'm not sure, when i plugged it in the gauge would go to 30 and not move (with the car key in the ON position) then, when started, it goes to about 35 and will go up and down when the car is reved up...it goes up to about 40-44 when reved up...not sure if is supposed to be there but i still need to KNOW WHAT PRONGS GO WHERE IN THE BACK OF THE GAUGE!!! if someone still has there gauge hooked up and can look in the back and see what prongs go where in the harness that would help a lot...
Also...i tapped into the light/parking light switch for power and whether or not the lights are turned on the white faced gauges still stay lit..???? Not sure why, i thought when the lights are off, so would the gauges be???? Please help me here too, thanks in advance.

well, I dont know about the guage wires, but the park lamp wire you taped into should have been the white one. at least thats what it is in every gm car I installed an alarm into. did you test it for power only w/the sw. on? there is a wire that has power all the time(thats how the sw. is powered). what did the gauge used to read before the wires "fell" out?

gauge probs

thanks for your quick response, still need help though, I tapped into the red wire leading to the back of the light/park light switch..it should have been the white one???
Also, it did not read anything because i had just hooked the gauge up, the wires popped out and i put them back in and then tried the gauge out. Does anyone have a pic of their harness that goes into the back of their gauge or can tell me which wires go where in the harness that goes into the back of the fuel pressure gauge, please help me guys...

Thanks
Randy

The red wire you got is the constant 12v wire, that swhy they stay on. You need to find the wire for the parking lamps, which is white, but can be brown or purple, I don't remember what it is on our cars. As for the guages I don't have auto meters in my car but basically all you have is ground, a wire to the sending unit, and the dimmer wire. You may just have a bad sending unit, call auto meter and talk to a tech guy.
