Did you read the post of the guy that said to check the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line? He went on to say that if fuel was getting into the vacuum line, the smell could be drawn into the passenger compartment through the HVAC control lines. Of course if there was fuel in that vacuum line, that would mean that your regulator was bad and needed to be replaced.
No i didnt read that, where is the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line? And Im sorry i having a dumb moment, HVAC always high voltage AC, what does that mean, and i take it the control lines are on the passenger side?

HVAC=heating, ventilation, air conditioning
The controls in the car that move the doors inside the ducting are operated by vacuum routed through this valve. That is why you hear a "hissssssssss" when you change the mode selector on the dash to a different position.
I am not sure what the other guy said about drawing fumes in the car is totally plausible. It might be if it was leaking enough, but it cannot hurt to check
