help with high idle coming to a stop!

i have searched on this subject but i cant really find an answer. i have access to a tech 2 scanner at gm. and i am pretty sure i have the tp set right(.67) and the iac counts are around 60-70. i have a heads and cam car with a madz28 tune and when coming to a stop i can take the car out of gear or push in the clutch and the rpms go to about 2000 and stay there until i completly stop and then they go down. i just to day sprayed a throttle body cleaner in the throttle body and the iac hole in the throttle body but the problem is still there. thanks for any help

Sounds like you need to have your counts readjusted for your temps.

is that something that is in the tune? i am not sure of how to do that. i am going to have the car dyno tuned tommorow. i am just trying to get everything working good before i go. i dont want to get there and them say i need to do this or that before they can tune it. i am having to drive 3 hours to get it done so just tring to cover my own ***.

Could be a slipping clutch if you have a M6 or possibly cam surge.

how would that be a clutch slipping if the car is out of gear and rolling to a stop?

Sounds like the throttle follower table is slightly out of whack.

Re: help with high idle coming to a stop!

If your clutch is going out, instead of fully disengaging when it's suppose to it may stay engaged a little longer or slightly and can cause higher rpm's, mine is doing the same thing as yours and it's my clutch, and when I take off and punch it the clutch slips all the way through my rpm range and when I shift the same thing and it doesn't go anywhere. But under normal driving conditions the clutch seems fine. Sometimes hard to get into first. Just a suggestion, if your clutch is over 100k or so I'd recommend replacing newayz.
