HELP!! Elec H2o pump blowing fuses
HELP!! Elec H2o pump blowing fuses
I have a CSI electric water pump that has worked great until yesterday. car overheated so I checked the inline fuse and it was blown. Replaced it and by the time I got home (1-2 miles) the guage was beginning to climb and when I checked the pump it was not running. blown fuse. I put a new relay on and a new fuse and when I start it up it blows the fuse again. Any suggestions?!?!?!?!?!?!
Re: HELP!! Elec H2o pump blowing fuses
Sounds like it may be time to pull the pump and see if the blades spin freely by hand. Sound like you have a bad bearing and it is putting so much load it blows the fuses. That is why i like the mechanical pump. It may leak from time to time but at least it dont stop!
Re: HELP!! Elec H2o pump blowing fuses
Found problem!!! I had just replaced the console in my '94 with one from a '98 and I had two switches and a light I had to mount on it someplace. One switch for the manual fan control, one for the left and right bank for the fuel/air ratio guage and the inidcator light for the water pump. since the two wires were the same I got them crossed when I wired them back up and it kept shorting out the fuse. rewired and all is fine.
