HELP!! door locks

ok, here's the problem. When i press lock or unlock switch inside the car, it doesnt unlock/lock drivers side door, only passenger side door. I hear the two clicks that its supposed to make. This also happens with the keyless entry remote. I think it might be the solenoid is bad, but am not sure... any suggestions? anyone know how much a new solenoid is? how hard it is to install? (im at university and have none of my tools here in Toronto)

Is it both locks thaty our having a problem with or just one?

Do the door locks unlatch the doors seperately? IE when you just use the latch on the passengerside door does it open, or do they both malfucntion the same time? If your having problems with both doors it might be an electrical problem. If it's a solinoid I doubt it be happening with both doors at the same time.

If it's just one door try replacing the switch...On F-bodies they go bad sometimes and things like that happen. But try the switch first..if that doesn't help then go for the solinoid. You should be able to do the solinoid swap with out any major work Electrical is always the easiest to do..a little time consuming. I just trashed all the Factory door opener crap and shaved the door handles. Had similar problem afterwards...but it was due to a dead cell in the battery. Good luck

This happend to my passenger side door except I could still lock the door but not unlock it. In the door locking mechanism that is connected to the interior door lock is a rubber boot. Make sure this is still connected. IT just slips in and it could be torn a little. This is how my was able to lock but not unlock. The end of the door rod would slide into place for locking but slide out of place when unlocking. You should still be able to hear the motor in the door lock activating. If you dont heard it take the panel off and stick your head in there and see (your head will fit! lol dont ask).

its only happening to the driver side door, its not the switch cuz i tried both sides plus the keyless remote entry. none work, i dont hear any sound coming from the drivers side door, only a noise under the glove compartment.
