I had recently finished installing the engine in my car after I rebuilt it. I started to fill the block with coolant through the water pump when I began to hear it filling up as if it was almost full. Then I heard the worst noise you could ever want to hear I heard coolant dripping. I looked under the car and found out that it was dripping down the trans inspection cover. I immediately felt the connections for the coolant crossover pipe and found out that it was coming out of the driver's side head where the pipe connects to the head with the special bolt. When doing the rebuild I used my old pipe and bolts but I put new washers on?? Also, I torqued them to the specification in my gm service manual... should I have used thread sealer?? Why does one side leak and not the other... I'm at my wits end!!! Should I get a whole new pipe and bolt set?? Is it even possible to remove it with the motor in the car... Sorry for making this sooo long, I just feel like it's one thing after the other!!! Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

 

I used thread sealent on mine.

 

Can anyone confirm this??? Should I just take the bolt that leaks out and add thread sealer, take both out and add thread sealer just in case, or buy a whole new tube and bolt set and just replace the whole thing... thanks again!!
