HELP! Car running like crap after Headers and Cam
Re: Re: HELP! Car running like crap after Headers and Cam
Here's the deal. Installed my new programed OBDI PCM, and it starts running great. Then it starts running like crap again! as its warming up, I would hit the gar around 2K and the car would almost die. Then a few seconds later it LEAPED foward. Also when I come to a stop, the RMP's die down to about 500. This is the same problem I had before the programming, and now it seems worse. The odd part is that when I take it on the highway, it seems to run fine afterward, but the idle problem is still there.
THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS. At one point it seemed to misfire when I started going from a stop sign, but not at higher rpm's. I'm also throwing a code with the new PCM. I'm going to buy the cable and scan it.
One more thing that I think could be an issue. Cyl # 5 wire kept getting burnt, so I ran a cyl # 8 wire to it becasue it was longer and ran it over the header instead of under. Could this longer wire be a problem?
Does anyone know what the problem is. I need help ASAP
What do you mean by this. The new O2's and FF are bad?

A guy with an Impala SS seemed to have a similar problem. He had to switch his MAF sensor and it cleared up. Could this be the problem?
