I went to the local dragstrip tonight and on my way home i goto a restuarant then i goto a friends house, after i leave the friends house i drove maybe a tenth of a mile and my car just dies, and the check gauges light comes on, Of course at this point i did not have oil pressure since the car was off, but my temp gauge was up there around 210, I have a 160 stat and it never goes this high, It stopped running around 10:30 , and i probably made
5 passes from 9-9:45, without letting the car cool off (I know this was a mistake)

Also I know my starter was going out before this was happening and it has been getting worse as of late, sometimes it just clicks on me,

Tonight the car after dying just clicked on me probably twenty times and then it stopped clicking and did nothing and would not start,

I have plenty of batter juice, gas, and my opti is newer and I have plenty of coolant and oil,

Did i blow my motor?
Did the car shutoff because it got too hot and then wouldn't restart because the starter went out?

Any and all input would be welcome,

Do any of your accesories come on when you turn the key? If not check your ignition switch. Also check all your fuses.

 

Check the coil wire any anything ignition related.

Ignition could be it,

I do a windowswitch, msd 6al, and a different coil on it,

I'll check all the fuses as well,

Why would the check gauges light come on though?
Loss of RPM?

hey guys i blew a pcm/ignition fuse, did this cause it to just shut off? i bought a starter but i have not had time to put it on, i'll do so tonight,
