Angry HELP - Can't start after being in storage (not battery)

My Z has been in storage for about a year without being started. I tried to jump start it & all I got was a clicking noise (starter.) Its an M6, so I tried to roll it down my driveway & mechanically start it. No luck.

I added gas (had about a 1/8 tank before I parked it.) I tried the clutch switch thing. It was loose so I tightened it up. I tried putting a paperclip in each side of the swith, but nothing. Also not really sure I did it right.

So, I changed the starter today & the first try it sounded like it turned to flywheel/motor some, but didn't crank up. Then it started clicking again.

Also, I checked the ignition. Have MSD Dig 6 & the "its working" light was on. I also tried it with the stock ignition.

Any other suggestions???

Cliff notes - Car won't start, just clicking. Tried everything I can think of.

How do you know it's not the battery? That's what the starter does when the battery is low. You could also have a short somewhere.

I was just assuming it wasn't the battery since I had it hooked up to another running car for 5 minutes before I tried to jump it, but I will try a new battery also.

Where should I begin checking for short if the battery doesn't work?

Try a new battery. I could not jump start my car with any 4 or 6 cylinder car's battery. (neighbours/friends) They just don't have enough cranking amps to turn the V8.

Most of us have been there. And now YOU can be one of the guys who will say "it's the battery."
