I talked to a local car guru, and he told me the bigger cam (2nd one) and try to get it ground so i can do the 4-7 plug wire swap, and on like a 112 LSA instead of the 110, what do u guys think?
You're going to be losing a good bit of compression with those huge chambers.

You're not going to get much of anything with the 4/7 swap. I know that the LSx motors use that, but I don't think it's worth much if anything on ours.

Definitely go with the 110 LSA.

You don't need a cam that large to run low 11's with a stalled automatic car. If your heads are done well and you can get the compression ratio back up (you'll be somewhere around 9.8-10.2 w/ factory deck height), you could get times like that with an LE3/Joe O/AI/etc. custom grind that's much smaller (and much more 'streetable'). That said, you'd need all the other supporting mods and a good tune.

sorry, the block is zero-decked, i think its gonna be around 11:1 compression IIRC. Ive leaned towards the LE3, but i want to go a route that not as many people go with. I will get a custom ground cam, but i kind of want to base it around one of those two. Might go with the duration of A, and the lift of B.

Also check your DCR with the cam you want. If it's too low, you'll need to go with a smaller cam that has a different IVC. I think the smaller Lunati cam would work well for you. It's a little less duration that that XFI cam, but it has good lift.

I want to do like you and get the XFI duration with the Lunati lift, but Lunati doesn't seem to have their lobe catalog listed like Comp does. I'm not even sure if they allow custom lobe choices like Comp.

Why do you want it around those duration and lifts? Just find a place you want to spec you a custom cam and take what they give you. You can't just expect to pick a duration and expect it to have the right v/e's

Sounds like he wants a really big, serious track cam and he said he wanted a custom cam. He's just getting thoughts on those two.

pretty much. I want to do some bracket racing, but still be able to drive it on the street. After talking to my tuner tonight, he told me to go with a little smaller cam so i can still actually idle lol. Idk, i might just go with a smaller cam like the lunati 60121, because my origional goals was a 12 second daily car, and im afraid if i do bracket racing and get the bigger cam, that im not going to enjoy the car anymore.
What would something like this
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...1&autoview=sku
or the 227 be like with say... a 200 shot of nitrous for racing? I know it'd still be a fun street car. Id be fine with 11.50s, but the faster...the better

Ok, so what are your goals now? You want a 12 second dd or a low 11 second n/a car? Hell, I went 11.3's with a hotcam and a 100 shot. 12.2's on motor. The hotcam isn't anywhere near the size of the two you had spec'd out.

well, im wanting mid 11s or so on motor, daily driven. I can handle a rough idle and such. I guess the low 11s would be nice....but....im not sure i would like either of those cams for a daily driver. My friend has a cc306 with 4.10s and a 3200 stall, and that is fine for my taste, so around that would be fine, even a little rougher would be fine

A cam will also be tamer in a 383 than the same cam in a 355. CC306 is still large, but less agressive than those you have listed.
