Help Broke the end of my Low oil sensor

Help Broke the end of my Low oil sensor

Well today i was taking out the low oil sensor to fix a leak and i some how broke the end of the sensor the clip that holds the wiggly piece fell in not the wiggly piece itself is this a problem or what. Thanks

if you left any parts inside the pan the pump will most likely suck them up and cause a problem

depends on how big the parts are that fell in. there is a screen on the oil pump pickup tube that would prevent big things getting sucked up into the pump

I broke the floater off my oil level sensor, and didn't even know it had one. Put a new sensor on the car and drove it for two years. Pulled the pan for a bad gasket. The floater piece had been chewed up into small pieces, many of which were stock to the oil pump screen. Cleaned up everything I could find and put the car back together. That was four years ago and it's still running strong.

If anything larger than warn metal particles (ferrous or not)
falls off into the pan, I'd yank it and get it out of there.
