HELP! Backfiring/electric H20 pump not working

Alright guys, my bro and I just finished my headers, opti, spark plug, wire, electric waterpump install....couple things. First off the car (running out of the headers) is backfiring....but only out of the driver side. I am pretty positive i have the wires going to the right places. When I bought the plugs they were supposed to be pregapped and i checked 4 of them and they were fine...but didnt check all 8. I also had the rocker arms off and havent fully adjusted them all yet...could that be a problem as well?

Also, we installed the meziere H20 pump and wired it up according to the KenLowrance schematic diagram and the pump is not running. When my brother did his a while back the pump would run with the accessories on, mine didnt so I figured it would run when the engine was cranked...it did not.
I ran 12g power wire to the little red battery box, then ran it to the 30 settiing on my 30 amp relay...with a 15amp inline fuse just as the diagram says. I ran the wire from the 86 setting on the relay to the 10amp ignition fuse in the fuse holder.(Note: I had to clip a bunch of the wire off because it was just too thick to be pushed down into the fuse housing with the fuse, dunno if that could be a problem) I ran a ground to the frame from the relay. Ran a power wire from the pump to the relay and also grounded THAT to the frame as well. At this point we should be good correct??? Someone give me some insight here please!

No idea on the pump wiring but check your firing order on the left bank and make sure you didn't cross a couple of spark plug wires.

Take one wire to the pump and put it to 12V (the battery connector near the battery). Connect the other wire to ground (it should alreay be on of the 2 grounded. This should atleast rule out wether the pump is working or not.

Re: HELP! Backfiring/electric H20 pump not working

My opinion, an electric water pump is not worth the headache. My Z28 had one on it, the fuse blew, car over heated, 600.00 later in new head gaskets and milling of warped head .
E. h20 pump = and mucho $$$$
