Help with AFR rev kit!
Ok I just baught a kit off a board member, I called AFR & they said I need the 6155 kit which is for stock lifters even if I have comp R lifters since its for stock style lifters. But just before I called them I emailed them aswell, now I got an email from them that I need the 6150 kit for my COmp R's cuz they are aftermarket lifters, but on the phone they told me thats for retro style etc...
If anyone knows whats going on LMK, otherwise I just baught the wrong kit
Thanx.

why do you think you need the REV kit? are you getting valve float? did you install the wrong valvesprings? i thought the comp R lifters have same body as the OEM but with stiffer springs to withstand high lift cams... never seen one however.

Well I have an XE cam 236/242, at high RPM it could get a little messy so its nice to install a hydra rev kit, I got a pretty good deal for it so I went ahead with it considering my car is on jackstands with no cam right now, I figured might aswell I did a search & I think you have to use the 6155 on Comp R's basicly same one you use with factory lifters, I think the tech guys are just stupid, considering the body looks identical.

I think you'll have to use the 6150 kit. The bodies are the same between the stock and comp R's, but I think the top surface is different. I know when I say Jordon's kit on a Turbo'd 383, his used some black alignment keys - and he has Comp R's for lifters. I'm using stock lifters w/ the factory alignment keys and 16 little "nubs" that rest on top of the lifter body.
But, I have some comp R's on order as this HE grind cam is floating my valves at about 6k. <- It's the only thing I have left to change! LOL.

Bunker, the 6150 is the right kit... The top mount area where the spring cup would go IS *supposed to be* DIFFERENT than a stock style lifter. I just called and made sure I was giving you the correct info .
Err hell.. you have both lifters still right? The stock & comp R's? You can check out the tops and see what I mean. <-- Assuming Jordache is right.

Go to their website and you'll see.. Well, they have two pics of their rev kits.. The top pic is what I remember seeing on Jordon's. <- again, he has comp R's.. Mine, OTOH, uses stock lifters and I'm running the kit that's in the 2nd pic. Uses the individual spring cups.

The top pic is the kit he just purchased. I sold it to him. I was using that kit with the stock lifters too. Both of us verified he was getting the correct kit as both of us contacted AFR. As I understood it, the second style kit (bottom pic) is actually for lifters that have the "arms" connecting a pair of lifters, which makes sense since the attaching arm would hit the raised body on the lifter guides in the top picture. . The top kit (the one he purchased from me) is used for the individual lifters.
I think you will be okay with the kit you have (on the way) bunker.
