Exclamation HELP! ? about welding relocation brackets

I am in the middle of welding in the BMR weld-in relocation brackets. I took off my old LCA, and I have a new BMR tubular LCA in its place. When I go to line up the bracket, there is about a 1/2" gap between the back (top) of bracket and the original bracket. The car is in the air, but the suspension is fully loaded. The rear end is jacked up so that the full vehical weight is on the rear suspension. Has this happen to anyone else? I don't want to modify the bracket if I don't need to. What should I do?? I was considering modifying the top hole in the relocation bracket, so it is elongated. This will allow me to move the bracket up so that the back (top) side of the bracket will contact the stock bracket on the rear end. Would this be an acceptable option?

By my BMR instructions sitting beside me the rear only needs to be supported and not under load. The car should be supported by the frame.
