You can run a conventioanl distributor in an LT1. GM Performance Parts sells both LT1 and LT4 carb/distributor intake manifolds. If you want to keep the fuel injection, you can drill the stock EFI manifold, and add a spacer plate to get the distributor the right height. Getting it under the cowl of a 4th Gen is another matter.
