Heater Core, Im cold :(
well accually i dont get cold too often but my heater doesnt work, and last night i was shivering driving home. i felt kinda rediculous so i shivered harder to make the people next to me think i was having convultions
. but anywho my friend says the two pipes connected to my firewall on the outside are probably supposed to be connected to my heater core, and thats why my heater doesnt work... so what do i have to do?
its really hard to pick up chicks if they get cold in the nice ride

I had a clogged heater core on my 94Z. I disconnected the hose from the top of the water pump, poured cooling system flush in it, and then took a blow gun and blew compressed air through it.
Worked good after that.

hey, i will be willing to bet that the guy bypassed the heater core because he blew the heater core (ex-ghetto rigger myself). when you hook it up, you will find alot of coolant in the pass. floor board.
So, if this happens, you will need to replace the heater core, which i have heard it is a bitch from alot of people and others say it isnt bad in comparison to a mustang fox (i have done those, they are a BITCH)

Blacklt1-tx, I'm glad you mentioned that, about the heater core being by-passed, cuase it would have to be by-passed for a reason(heater core leaking) more than likely. I'm sure there some info or even guides on how to get to/change it.
The supply and return hoses from the heater core goes to the coolant ports on the left hand side of the water pump housing. See pic.

Go buy a heater core ($50) and replace it. It's under the glove compartment. The hoses will be on the passenger side of the engine bay behind the whell weld. They are 2 pipes, you should see them. Don't get them confused with the AC lines. Just took mine out yesterday. Takes like 30 minutes.
