heat not working

i just got a new waterpump and optispark installed on my 96. i got it back and noticed my heat it not working. just cool air blowing out. is it possible to have a air pocket still in my system. i opened the bleeders and there is a steady stream of coolant that comes out, but it feels like the heater hose coming off the waterpump is not full of coolant. any ideas i need to get my heat working its getting cold out. thanks

What is the temp gauge saying? If the water is circulating, and your temp gauge is normal try bleeding it again. I usually leave the cap off and let the car run. crack the bleeder on the top

Re: heat not working

If bleeding it again doesn't help solve the problem try back flushing the heater core. I had to do that to mine and it works fine now.

Re: heat not working

i got it working. there was a big air pocket in it. what i did was take the cap off and open the bleeder on the heater line. seems like pocket came to the top and blew coolant out and now i have heat. then i closed the bleeder and let it run with the cap off then topped it off. seems to be working fine now, but who knows there could always be more air in it. thanks guys

Re: heat not working

sometinmes you may need to bleed it more than once. I have been through this issue multiple times so i know what you were dealing with. You did what you needed to do ..just keep an eye on your temp guage. if there is still an airpocket it might be over the snsor and causing an improper reading so keep an eye open for it and after you stop for overflow tube to fill up....but you should be ok
