Heads put on wrong side????

My machinist put my heads on the block but put them on the wrong sides. ie driver side head on passenger side vice versa. Is this ok? Now the holes I need for coolant crossover and coolant sensor are plugged up. Can I just swap these plugs and everything be ok?

Yes, just pull the plugs and reinstall them.

Re: Heads put on wrong side????

there are plugs on both sides of your heads........take the plugs out of the back side reinstall on front side. No big deal unless you're like me, I had no plugs in the front (machine shop) and filled it up with water. Can you guess where all that water went??? That's right coil and opti it dried out out and was no big deal, except pulling all the crap off the front of the engine to put the plugs back in!

Re: Heads put on wrong side????

They may be frozen so prepare for that, some light heat (not excessive) will assist in loosening them. Heat only on the plg, not the surrounding alum.

The heads are the same/reversible..
Check the coolant temp gage sender hole also.. probably now the opening is in the right rear side instead of the driver's front..

wouldnt that put the EGR up front? Unless your plugging it that would be a problem. and are their the same accesory mounting holes on the back of the heads too?

The EGR is on the back of the Intake Manifold.
