Head's Finally Showed up...
Re: Head's Finally Showed up...
Nice...who is gonna port them? Whta type of flow numbers to expect? Also, what is needed for this conversion (probably setup for reverse cooling, but what intake and such)?
Re: Head's Finally Showed up...
Dennis at Airflow Development Will be doing them.. As far as the intake and stuff, it'll be a single plane efi setup, 4150tb and the rest is upto him..

Re: Head's Finally Showed up...
Offset rocker's and lifter's, and std 23 deg. piston's are good to go.. yea it's a 23 well actually a 22deg. head.. 1 deg ain't nothing to brag about though lol...

The valve spacing and rolled head might make a need for custom pistons or at least flycutting what you have.

Re: Head's Finally Showed up...
I believe they're actually rolled over 2 degrees. Most 23 degree classes will allow a 2 degree roll over, that's why AP builds them that way.
Very good choice IMO!
Only advice I'd offer is to stay away from stud mount rockers. I don't care if they work or not. By the time you buy the good rockers, girdles and everything else you need, you could have had a set of shafts. JMO, having been there... done that.... but never again.

Re: Head's Finally Showed up...
Jesel makes a good rocker setup and for stuff where I can get a valve cover with integral spring oilers, I've used them. I used them on my 383 with the MPD covers without an issue.
However, if you'd like to get away from plumbing oilers, then go with a T&D shaft setup with the optional spring oiler "holes" in the rocker. The circle track guys usually double their spring life with oilers and I'm a big proponent of them on any serious build. Cooler springs last longer and when cooler, they maintain more pressure as the revs get high.
Good luck Steve!

Re: Head's Finally Showed up...
Plumbing a spring oiling sys. woudln't be that hard.. Would i just plumb from a oil supply source out of the block w/ a restrictor in line?
Re: Head's Finally Showed up...
Pops has a set of Crower solid roller lifters that are offset to work with your engine. We can also get a good price on a set of these:
