Heads
Heads
Does anyone know anything about the new Trickflow LT1 head other than the 195 cc intake runner, 64 cc combustion chamber, 1.47 springs 2.02 1.60 exhaust? Also, Edelbrock has a new head that is pretty decent (according to their flow numbers). Does anyone know anybody who has tried them? When does a 383 run out of air? How much head do you really need? I would like to build a 383, 12 to 1, 236 248 .550 lift 112 LSA hydraulic cam, 58 mm throttle body, Ported LT1 intake, 3400 stall, 3.89 gear, 28 tire in a 95 Camaro Z28. Thanks!
I have a set of the new TFS heads. The motor isn't done yet, but it is:
383
11.5:1 compression
Comp 306 cam
Pro-Mag rockers
Long tube headers
blah blah blah...
Here is the information I can provide about them:
The TFS published info is already posted on this site, do a search. I had the heads flowed locally and these are the numbers I got:
LIFT Int. CFM Exh. CFM
.100 88.06 NA
.200 150.22 96.04
.300 220.88 143.25
.400 234.25 170.54
.500 250.66 193.94
.600 266.14 205.36
.650 269.78 210.84
.700 273.43 210.84
The other useful information is:
62cc chambers with THICK deck surface, you can hog the hell out of them if you need a smaller chamber
2.02/1.60 Ferrea 6000 SS Valves
1.460" valve springs (double w/damper)
125 lbs @ 1.780" installed height
420 lbs/in rate
.600 max lift
Heads are 22lbs each
I expect to have the car ready to roll in a couple months.
It's going in a 1995 Caprice wagon with T56 conversion and 4:10's (wagon is roughly 4700 lbs curb weight)
