headers/shifting problems
headers/shifting problems
I'm combining to questions in one post. I'm in the market for a set of long tubes and an off road y-pipe. I was looking for both from the same manuf. to ensure a proper fit. They'll be bolted to the cat back in my sig. any suggestions?
Now for the shifting probs. I was out in the middle of nowhere with my g/f listening to the radio and i drained the battery. It was late so I didn't want to bother my friends for a jump. We push started it and i got in and poped the clutch and away we went. The only prob now is that it seems to hang up in 1st-3rd. Shifting in and out of 1st gives me the most grief. Could I have broken something?
I've put about 200 mi. on the car since then and it dosen't seem to be getting any better/worse.

Long-tube headers plus SLP loudmouth = extremely LOUD (and raspy)
I had pacesetter long-tubes with my loudmouth and it was so loud and raspy that I couldnt stand it. Plus it would back-fire all the time. Ended up replacing my cat-back with the Magnaflow system - and it sounds great now.

Yea, I've heard lt1's with the loud mouth and long tubes. You're not kidding when you say loud and raspy! Hey, the louder, the better. Do you like your pace setters? I was thinking more along the lines of Hooker but I'm open to suggestions. I plan on doing a lot of research before I buy. I also want to make sure I get a set that won't look like crap in 6 months.
i have had the hookers for about 3 years now and i love them. they are not to hard to install and also they offer the jet hot coating (which i have) and the coating is also great keeps heat way down. Through those headers and hooker y and just a flowmaster muffler the car isnt all that loud but has a great tone.
