Headers and other mods for LT-4

Alright here's what is goin on. I have a 97 Z28 LT-1 with 153,000 miles on her. I am gettin ready to get the engine rebuilt, with the lt-1 to lt-4 conversion kit (ie. heads, cam, 1.6 rockers, and intake manifold) and the rest of my engine components re-machined so everything technically will be like new. I still have my original opti (been wet from washes multiple times and no problems). I replaced my clutch, flywheel, etc. about 80,000 miles ago, my radiator about 40,000 miles ago, and my water pump about 60,000. I already have an intake and B&B tri-flo exhaust (muffler only as it came from my V6). So here's what's left. I want to get the rest of the mechanics of the car redone so everything is as close to new as possible. I need to replace my power steering pump. Should I worry about alternator, opti, etc or will these be good for a while?

So after all that is taken care of I have around $2,000 left to spend on a clutch setup, headers, shifter, and a new pcm (which I assume since I am getting basically a dif engine I should have a new one programmed). So what suggestions do you have for me to spend my $, where should I go for the best deals, and if there is any money left over after your suggestion, what should I go for? I was thinking a larger throttle body, electric cutout, and some dressup items. However I am open for suggestions. Thanks for taking the time for reading this and please respond and let me know what you think.

Do you have your heart set on the LT4 conversion? Lloyd Elliot can help you out and probably get you more power than the conversion kit will make. Check his site out, it has been up for a while now. NIce guy and I am sure he give you some options to go with.

a throttle body will prove no gains with the set up you plan...maybe 1-5hp which is virtually nothing for that money. Like stated earlier lloyd elliot can get you better heads/cam for less money then the LT4 kid and make more power. Next get a set of Kooks long tube headers and #30 fuel injectors.

If you read in Lloyd packages he gives you a general guide line on parts, i.e. headers, injectors, etc and what type of power can be expected with his head /cam package and supporting mods.
