I'm new here, but I have looked through the newer threads, so if this is a repeat thread please let me know!

I've been looking at different header and exhaust companies and would like know which one is the best for sound and performance. I have a stock 1996 z28 LT1 6-speed if that helps .

Since you are from Cali, your header options are limited. I believe the only decent choices for you are SLP's and Mac's. I believe they both make a headers with 1 3/4" primaries. Your car is a dual cat car. For 96-97 cars to stay emissions legal you pretty much have to give up all good header options. The dual cat headers are usually all wrapped around and give horrible plug access and marginal gains from what i've heard. Sorry you live in Cali or don't have a 93-95 single cat car.

 

what about for me 97 Z28...im looking for headers/exhaust as well...which brands should i go with?

 

If you have emissions to deal with the same thing i told the thread starter. If you don't have to deal with emissions either go with LT's or get some of the better 94-95 style headers, like AS&M's, RK sports, SLP's or Mac's.
