Headers?

I am ripping my '95 apart again, and am really thinking of putting a set of headers on it, which I hope will ease in the change of plugs, etc.

What are the proven headers out there to accomplish this?

Thanks!

I Like my pacesetter shorties. Very easy to install and plug access is not bad.

I like my kooks longtubes except for the price. I use a pass through socket set from home depot and can get all my plugs out and back in before the header flange has cooled to the touch(30 min or less). I can get everything from the top except #6 and #8 I get from under the car(had to tape the pass through ratchet because will arc on starter. I used the 5/16 multipoint header bolts(the longer length) and I can get to all the header bolts decent. I still had to thin the head of a wrench to help on a couple of them. I do have the stepped header and have deleted the air and egr(not sure if any of that would effect access or not because dont really remember how it routed and mounted. If you do put new headers on its advisable to leave out the o2 sensors til you give them a heat cycle or two to burn off oil or coatings.

Re: Headers?

I like the pacesetter long tubes, plug change went from a 8 hour job to a 45 minute job. If I had to change anything I would just go with OBX 16g. stainless 1 3/4" long tubes. Same design as the pacesetters but better. With long tubes you will need o2 sensor extension that is $40, a y-pipe $150. OBX has an ebay store and I seen the whole kit for $380 now and then, minus the extensions. Oh almost forgot, also get a plug wire set from thunderracing.com, the kit takes the plug wires over the valve covers, it's a must have.

Based on some things I've read, and the time frame you mention, I'm surprised you received anything at all.

Re: Headers?

Mac mid-lengths have great spark plug access. That what I run, can change plugs in 30 minutes. Nice power increase also.

Heres a video of the macs on the car. Check out the plug access
