Header leak or Valvetrain noise ?
Ever since I put my headers on I have a strange noise coming from what I would guess the front on the engine... I cannot tell for sure its caused by an exhaust leak, because when I installed my headers I also for the first time put in the borla block off plate. That decreased exhaust sound a lot, and so I might hear things that I didn't hear before.
In idle everything is fine, I can just hear it when I start accelerating, its a kind of tick tick tick noise (sounds a bit like a metal rattle, though its a higher pitched sound). It goes away as soon as I let of the gas pedal.
After the install of the headers I had everthing checked by a mechanic and he said there is no leak anywhere... what do you think it is ? Maybe something in the Valvetrain ? Maybe just engine noise amplified through the headers ?
Thanks,
Alex

Re: Header leak or Valvetrain noise ?
Its your headers leaking probably, has this sound appeared as soon as you installed the headers? or has it slowly increased as you used the car after the header install. have you retighten the header bolts.
Re: Header leak or Valvetrain noise ?
I had noticed that noise as soon as I had the headers installed... the mechanic however checked for leaks and couldn'T find anything... so either it's not not a leak or he's trying to screw me....
