Header Install In progress

So i started installing my mac headers today, started around 5 and worked till about 12 tonight. I did most of the work myself but around 6-8 or more of my friends came over and a few of them jumped and they removed the altenator and the egr's from both sides. So far the y-pipe is off, starter is off,dip stick tube is off, all plugs are removed from the passenger side (the front one is such a pita i worked on that for almost 2 hour's and my brother decided to jump in and he got it out in like 10 min . I've got like two of the header bolts removed from the passenger and one from the driver just because i felt like doing it. So i'm going at a pretty slow pace but i'm not trying to rush and mess anything up. I'm hoping to start on it around 11 tomm morn and be finished by dark, is it possible?

you have to remove the spark plugs to get the manifolds off?

I don't believe so, but I did. Was my first time too, and not too time consuming..... My concern was somehow dropping the exhaust manifold onto a plug and snapping it in two while in the block somehow someway.....if I don't take every precaution, something is bound to go wrong for me...

Chances are you'll have to put the spark plugs in after your headers anyway. Especially on the passenger side. I had adequate room on the drivers side to put plugs/wires on without a problem, but the passenger side was a bit more cramped. I ran my plug wires first, installed header, then plugs.

As far as being possible in 7-8 hours time, most likely. If you don't hit a major roadblock and have a buddy or two handy, especially for the passenger side header, you should be in decent shape.

Yes, now the plug is out so it won't snap off if it was hit. But remember
that now you have an open hole that something can fall into....
May be tape over the hole??? Bill....
