Header install ?

Would you guys do plugs and wires before or after putting the headers in? Just wondering which is easier. And since I'm at it what should I gap the TR6's too for nitrous? Thanks in advance

Re: Header install ?

If it was me i'd put the plugs in while the headers were off. That way you can get the wrench in there easier. It would save your knuckles and a lot of time cursing. As far as the wires go, it would be hard to run them if you didn't know where the header sits. I mean you could possibly run them in the stock location and things would be alright, but it all depends on your headers. Maybe test fit the headers after the plugs are done so you can see where the wires could go and figure out the best approach to running them. Via OTVC or side of the valve covers, stock location, etc. Good luck

Re: Header install ?

I say do the plugs and wires after the headers are bolted on. I tried putting the plugs in while the headers were off and I managed to break one of the plugs while trying to get the header in so i had to take the plugs out any way.

Re: Header install ?

Put plugs and wires in after install so you can see were you have to keep wires away from headers.lot of times headers dont go in with plugs in.

I would definitely do them after the headers are bolted up to the block, I don't see how you could get the headers in with the plugs in the way.

Re: Header install ?

I had no problems at all getting my headers in w/ the new plugs installed. Just try not to be a bull in a china closet when you're getting the headers in place and you wont break plugs...

Re: Header install ?

Thanks for the responses. I was leaning towards afterwards for the simple reason I didn't want to break any of the plugs.
