Header Gaskets

I am getting ready to put my hooker lt's on my car and someone told me to get metal gaskets instead of the paper ones they give you. What brand? Victor? Felpro? and then I was wondering how i should go about mounting them, I bought some ultra copper rtv and i just don't wanna put the gasket on crooked or something. Any pointers? what or what not to do? Thanks for the help!!!

When I put my headers on I used GM Part # 12550033 .... They are steel crusables 1 pc. for each side , makes it easy for installation, and where about $13.00/e last year.

So far no leaks/problems

My paper gaskets got fried. That was cuz i used the 7/16 head bolts that came with the kit, I couldnt get them vary tight. I just replaced the gaskets with copper ones ($31) and 3/8 head bolts from summit. No more leaks. And I got the bolts much tighter this time.

Copper is generally known to be the best because you can reuse them. I used the Felpro 1406 and they fit very nice AND I like the fact that the ends are hooked so you don't have to fumble around with the gasket and the header in a small *** space. Just thread the first and last bolts, drop the gasket in, and tighten up.

I got my Felpro's from Autozone for $12. They had to order them but it only took one day.
