I am having this problem myself. I had the percys gaskets and they always leaked, so Now I went and bought GM gaskets and the holes are in the outside of the gasket and they are riveted together right where the hole for the header is. My percys also had this but it was to help hold the gasket up to the head.

Fel-Pro's

The extra holes are probably for the Vette manifolds.

On my old set of headers (MAC shorties) I had both the embossed earl's gaskets and the copper gaskets and stage 8 locking bolts and BOTH sets of those gaskets leaked like crazy. I ended up going with the fel pros before I switched headers. hope this helps, just my $0.02

The extra outermost holes in the heads are what the headers use to bolt on. The inside ones are where the stock manifolds bolt on because they're a tad bit shorter in width across the head.

I'm have the percy's dead soft gaskets. I am gonna use them for my header install in a few weeks. Which side goes on the head the flat or the rivited side?

Sorry, but i have to correct you on this...the inner holes, closest to the exhaust port are the ones that the headers go into. The outer holes are the ones for the stock exhaust manifolds.

As for the GM gaskets missing the inner holes, I helped a friend do an install on LT's with those exact gaskets, and we ended up mocking up the headers as if we were going to install them, and marking the hole, then drilling a new hole through the gasket. This won't disrup anything because they are the crush ring gaskets.
