Header gasket Rant!

Yeh thats what im using is the arp stainless bolts. Going to try and torque them down real tight this time to hopefully get a full seal. So are those Percy gaskets all cracked up to what there supposed to be? Look for an alternative to this issue before i have to pull them out to see if the flange is warped

I used fine sand paper on the cyl. head and on the headers so that everything had a ultra clean surface i also put on about 3 coats of the permatex copper spray on the gaskets, torqued everything down and made my own E.G.R pipe gasket out of a graphite gasket, i heat cycled the engine twice and retorqued the bolts and everything sealed up perfect. runs so much smoother with no leaks
Good deal... wouldn't hurt to check the bolts ever week or so over the next month and ensure the bolts aren't backing out.

I'm going with Felpro 1406's and Percy's split-lock header bolts when I put these Pacesetters on here soon.

I've always cut my header flanges between the outer tubes and the two inner tubes. this allows each part of the flange to seal seperately. After doing this you can actually see the flanges being slightly off after torquing them down, probably due to the actual ports on the heads beeing off. Never once have I ever had a header gasket leak using stock exhaust gaskets or the gaskets that come with the headers which everyone knows are never the best.

I see that the fel pro gaskets are pretty popular are they that much better vs the copper mr gaskets i have now? What about those Percy seal 4 good gaskets? Just want to drive the thing and not here god damn ticking all the time.
