what year headers will fit on my 97 lt1 camaro? I believe there is two cats on mine so would a 94 style longtubes and y pipe fit my car?

if you relocate/remove the cats, yes, they will fit

Preferably the garbage can. Actually they are sellable parts. The driverside one is a very large one that would need to be replaced with a smaller one and not just relocated. If going to a LT's and y-pipe, maybe you could use a cat off a '93-'94 car. It would be under the car after the y.

Shorty headers generally bolt right up to the stock y pipe, long tubes require some work from an exhaust shop.

What you can change is limited only by what emissions laws you have to meet. The headers physically interchange for all years.... 94 - 97 they bolt to the heads, and fit in the chassis. But what will get you through emissions (if you have any at all) will determine whether you can use long tubes, or convert your dual-cat 97 to use single cat 94/95 headers.
