I have a set of the jet-hot lt's on the way and I was wondering which bolts I should get. Should I get the 3/4" ARPs or 1", or go with the stage 8 3/4" or 1"? Please let me know what would be the best bolt and best size to use. Also, should I go ahead and order the felpro gaskets or use the gaskets that come with the headers (if they come with them)?

 

Don't bother with ARP bolts. I used the 3/4" type and they kep[t falling out. Just installed some 1" Stage 8 locking bolts which, so far, seem to have a better fit. I haven't put the locking retainers on yet but I will do that this weekend. Use a Felpro gasket as well

A buddy of mone that owns a performance shop(and has done a ton of long tubes) told me to get the 1in stage 8 locking bolts. He told me to get the ones for I think ford or chrysler applications, that use the teardrop lockers. My headers dopnt get shipped out untile wed, so we will se when I get them if they work.

 

Thanks for the replies. Just to make sure on the gaskets, is the part # to use 11-1406 (Fel-Pro LT1 Header Gaskets, D-Port). Just want to make sure before i spend the money. By the way, i'll be ordering from Thunder Racing. Please let me know if there's a cheaper place.

 

Yes, the 1406 is the correct Felpro gasket.

 

You can use either. I think the tear drop would be easier as you don't have to modify the clips then.

 

Is there apart number for the tear drop stage 8s out of the Jegs or Summit catalog?
