header bolts
I have an exhaust leak at the headers. I want to see if it is just loose bolts. The exhaust guy told me it was the bolts closest to the y-pipe on the passenger side. How do I get to them? And what tools do I need? Thanks.
Are you talking about stock manifolds, or headers. (I don't see headers in your sig) If it's headers, you probably only need ramps, a socket driver or breaker bar with the appropriate socket for the nuts, and maybe an extension. You might need a 3/8" swivel as well.
On my Mac headers, to tighten the Y-pipe nuts, I need a 3/8" swivel, a short 11/16" socket, about a 9" extension, and a breaker bar or socket driver.

I have stock manifolds. It isn't the bolts holding the manifold to the y-pipe but...The bolts that hold the manifolds to the block. The bolt closest to the firewall I guess....farthest from the TB I think only need to be tightened. How do I get to them and what tools do I need to tighten them. I know they use a size 14 socket but that is it.
