My car is stock, it has a slight exhaust leak and it has started to make a noise like something is beating on the valve cover, but I have taken it off and it still sounds the same, but just a little louder. I have been told that it might be a collapsed lifter, but I dont really know, and I dont want to fix something thats not broke. The help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

 

A video with sound would help. If its a loud as you say something is wrong and whatever it is needs fixed. If you are unsure of the problem or don't have much experience i would have a professional look at it.
