Head Torquing

I just don’t know where to get any information concerning this subject. I know the proper GM head torque sequence for the LT1. I just don’t know which method to use. Do I just torque the heads in three step till I reach the recommended ft pounds and forget it or do I used an angle gauge? Any information in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Either will work. Your choice. I like the T/A method.

I've always used the 3 step method for a total of 65ft. lbs.

Re: Head Torquing

if your name truly denotes that you own a 93 and you know for a fact that your bolts are factory installed originals then you can reuse them...but YOU dont have a choice which torquing method to use with THOSE. you will use the three step method to 65-70 ft lbs. if you use the toque angle method they WILL NOT be tight enough. If youre not sure then go to autozone or wherever for new head bolts and youll have to use the torque angle method. your third option is order a set from ARP. you can install and remove arp bolts indefinitely using the 3 step method i first mentioned.
