Head swap, drain coolant?

I already know I need to drain the radiator, but do I need to drain the block? All the way or just a little? Expect a lot of questions here soon

Yes. I removed both the driverside drain and the pass side knock sensor but the driverside should be enough.

Is it necessary to drain all of it? I would think it would be ok below the pistons... Ahh, just screw it... I'll drain it all

Alot more comes out it you pull both instead of just one. At least it did in my case. You would think since its all connected it wouldn't matter that much but I had alot more drain after pulling the knock sensor. Sometimes the knock sensor is really in there good and I dont think its worth the effort because it is easy damaged if its stuck in the block. I had to replace mine because the socket part seperated from the threaded part while I was cranking on it. It's two pieces and $40 btw

I recommend opening the block plug and draining the block, then the radiator (order isn't super-important, but have buckets under both at the same time).

If you want, pop off your thermostat (watch out for coolant) and hold an air hose up to the opening and blow some air into the opening. This will get out that last little bit that always seems to soak into your pants and boxers at an inopportune time
