Head question... ?

My car (94 Z28) has 30,000 miles on it. was out racing it with my new SC install and a coolant hose blow off the water pump and car got hot real quick of course. so i towed it home. i pulled all the spark plugs and four had antifreeze on thrm and four didn't. this was on different sides of the motor too. i pulled the intake off and see nothing wrong there. oil in the pan and filter is clean... have to pull the heads off when i get time, something went wrong since the plugs were wet. if its just a head gasket or a crack in the head that can be fixed, i thought bout having the heads ported. not sure how much to port them. still have stock cam, not sure if i want to upgrade cam yet. basically what i'm getting at is- would i be better off getting the LT4 conversion kit or is porting my LT1 heads a better idea? are the LT4 heads that much better stock for stock? i don't have much money to spend right now so thats why when the heads are off i want to check them and go from there. thanks..

"don't have much money" = not getting a set of LT4 heads. A little quality portwork can easily make your heads outflow the LT4 heads and with a smaller runner volume. If you are strapped, just surface the heads and get a nice competition valve job if yours is beat up.

Re: Head question... ?

just let the person porting the heads know that it is for a blower car. I'd go with a blower cam also.

Re: Head question... ?

whats a good blower cam that is not going to be loopy- i want something that feels close to stock and doesn't effect the idle much.
