Head Choice

If you could choose between Trick Flow® GenX heads or Lloyd Elliott LE1 heads which ones and why?

Trick Flow® GenX:

Lloyd Elliott LE1:

I am still curious how LE1 heads out perform LT4 heads even though they are about the same except the LT4 heads have bigger valves?

The 62cc head combustion chamber volume of the TF's is working against you, unless you are building a forced induction setup. At a minimum, the TF's will take additional work to reduce combustion chamber volume. Those are bare heads. The flow numbers quoted by TFS indicate they stall at about 0.50" lift, with 253CFM at 0.50" and 254CFM at 0.60". So you would need additional work to match what a good head ported can achieve on a factory LT1 head. Comes down to cost, and how far you want to take the engine. But "out of the box", the TF's aren't really useful.
