having some problems

the car is a 95 t/a,it only has bbk shorties other than that its stock.i got the car for dirt cheap and it ran like crap.i just changed the plugs and wires, took the car out and it ran awesome,i was very happy and impressed.on my drive home from the shop the car started to break up very bad,it wouldnt rev over 2k without just popping out.i thought it might be the coil breaking up so i went to change it and found bare wire on the coil connecter,i repaired that and im still having the same problem.do you think it could still be the coil itself or something else?the only code the car throws is egr when your getting on the freeway.thank for all the help in advance

Plug wire might be burnt on the headers.

plug wires are ran right and that is not the problem.now when the car still does the same thing(pops and bangs out under a load when warm)until the SES light comes on then it runs perfect.does that make sense to anyone?or has anyone ever had this problem before?

I believe the car goes into limp mode when certain codes are set so check the codes? If you only get the egr one than I'm stumped.

If it goes away when the MIL turns on and runs fine afterwards, then its not the ignition coil are you sure its an ignition problem or possibly a fuel sys problem?
