Having problems with aftermarket Mass Air Flow ends.
Having problems with aftermarket Mass Air Flow ends.
I purchased after market mass air flow ends for the LT1 mass air flow sensor from TBYRNE Motorsports. These ends are now discontinued. They were manufactured by MBA Products, and are supposed to match up with the OEM sensor. I had to cut away the sides to allow the plastic ends of the sensor to fully seat. While they did not fit perfectly, I attempted to reassemble the ends to the sensor using the OEM bolts. The bolts were too large, and the local Chevy dealer had nothing that would work. TByrne said I must cut away at the ends to get them to fit but did not offer a solution for the holes that were machined too small.
It would have been nice if they gave me a heads up on this fitment issue instead of taking my money and then "waiting" for me to call when I "discovered" they didn't work.

i have heard that playing with the stock maf does more harm than good. it is a very sensitive and specially calibrated part and porting it or replacing the ends may throw that calibration off. if i were you i would just leave the stock maf in
>I got them from Tbyrne years ago and have them on my bored/stroked/supercharged engine with no problems. They look nice and I don't have any codes relating to MAF problems, but the down side is... you can't see it when you have the sensor near the inlet side of the T-trim.
