I'm not keen on spending ~$400 on a balancer.
Has anyone used the Powerbond or the one from Jegs?
I'm over 2000 miles from home, forgot to bring mine, it's in a storage unit somewhere. I'm going to have to get **** rebalanced too now.
What a pita.

Well, at the time I didn't know I'd definitely be needing one. However, after further dissection of my truck and every box and piece of newspaper in there, I've determined that I need to buy one now. IMO it's not worth spending $100 on ebay for a stock one, might as well spend the little bit more and get a good one.
I take it you've used these dampers before and are comfortable with them?
The one you have extra or something? Or are you just stating that you have one. Does it have the short hub for 96-97 F-body?
EDIT: I JUST WANT TO STATE THAT I KNOW IT'S A DAMPER AND NOT A "BALANCER"
Damn FORD guys

Dave,
I'm running a Jeg's balancer on my race car. The only problem I encountered was I ordered the long hub style thinking it was for an early style without the reluctor ring. When I got the part it was obvious that the hub was much longer than the stock one. It turns out that, because of the accessories, the Impala SS's and Corvette's have a much longer hub than the F-body. When I went to return it and order the correct hub they were on backorder. I waited a couple of weeks for it. Finally I got tired of waiting and since my car is a strip only vehicle and has no accessories except an alternator on a low mount bracket, we just used it and shimed the alternator out. It's been working fine that way. So if you do decide to order one don't order the long hub thinking it's for a non reluctor ring set-up.

Hey appreciate it Mike, thanks for the tip! I might be looking at a Powerbond for now. As far as I know, they're the Aussie branch of Pioneer I think? Or is it vice versa... I've got one for my 351W...
